Orbys Holterberg is a distinguished competition on invitation, we were part of in april 2020 organized by our client Henri Holterman and his family members to design office spaces and hotel rooms including his own personal space (with an office, lounge and kitchen area). Our concept design explores the idea of creating a landscaped organic shape that merges delicately in the area between the open space and the existing forest creating this way a central connecting square around which all the functions of the building are organized and also opening up the views towards the green areas. The height of the building increases gradually from the inner square reaching the highest point at a strategic position where the main office is located overlooking the forest and the landscaped area. Our philosophy was to create this outdoor feeling of ‘working in nature’ to be able to fully grasp the freedom, connectedness, mindfulness and inspiration of being close to nature, challenging in a way the concept of the traditional enclosed working spaces.
